'AMAZING GRACE' release

'Amazing Grace' will be George's next single EP, released on March 22nd 2010 on Decode Records/M&2S.

The release includes mixes by Sharp Boys, Filo & Peri, and Mac & Taylor and will be out on CD single, digital download and also a collectors ltd edition vinyl picture disc!

WORRIED ABOUT THE BOY
new BBC drama

We are thrilled to announce that the BBC are making a film drama all about George.
The 90 minute drama 'Worried About The Boy' will focus on George's early career and how he leapt from being a cloakroom attendant to a cultural icon.

Newcomer Douglas Booth (pictured) will play the role of George.
Matthew Horne (from Gavin & Stacy, Catherine Tate Show etc) will play Jon Moss.
Other legendary characters include Steve Strange played by Marc Warren (best know for Hustle), and Malcolm McLaren played by Mark Gatiss (League Of Gentlemen).

Controller of BBC drama commissioning Ben Stephenson said: "Worried About The Boy will be an evocative and visually enticing drama about one of our most iconic British pop stars."
The BBC Two film, commissioned as part of the channel's 80s series, has been written by Tony Basgallop, who has worked on Hotel Babylon.
Filming starts later this month.

George himself is delighted at the news of the project snd can't wait to see the finished result.

CULTURE CLUB and FEDEX

Culture Club will be the subject of a major advertising campaign for the US company Fedex in January.

The TV ad features a man who wakes up from a long coma who is told that Culture Club have broken up, and the advert ends with him becoming very distraught because he never got to to see them live!

The advert will be screened in the US first of all during the Fedex Orange Bowl on January 5th, and from then on will be on heavy rotation.

The advert is vey light-hearted and is a positive change from the negative press that George has been getting recently in the states. It's good PR for George and Culture Club to feature in an advert for such a US household name.

Effective or not.... you decide! ;)

This audio recording was made by the BBC of an early Culture Club concert on the 3rd November 1982.

4 NEW TRACKS

1. George has teamed up with David Hoyle (aka The Divine David) on a track called 'Spoiling It For The Others'.

The song was written for a TV project that David Hoyle will be piloting soon, but it was also a chance for George to team up with David, whose style of performance and comedy have been appreciated by George for many years.

Spoiling It For Others was written by George, Kevan Frost and David Hoyle and was recorded on July 1 at Kevan's studio's 'The Blue Room', and produced by Kevan. Two days later on the 3rd July a video was shot at George's house in Hamstead.
George has sent 100% Boy the full track for your listening pleasure.

(Also those that along to Pride in London on Sat 4th July got the chance to hear George and David perform the song live!)

2. The song 'Brand New' was written by George and Kevan Frost during the west end run of Taboo!
The released version has been remixed by Kinky Roland and is all set to be released digitally on the album that George and Kinky are putting together of songs that Kinky has mixed for George. More details of this very soon!

3. The FABULOUS 'Amazing Grace' is another great new track.
George and John Themis recorded this demo on 7th July.
Fabulous lyrics inspired by Eckhart Tolle.
This song will be released digitally in a new digital download deal that George is setting up as we speak, which promises the release of old gems as well as new songs and some re-recorded George classics.

4. The beautiful 'Lights' was written for and about George's dear friend Paul Starr.
Paul was a celebrated make-up artist to the stars, and as well as working for George had also worked with celebrities such as Madonna, David Bowie, Angelina Jolie, Sophia Loren.
He was found dead in his apartment in LA on 19 August 2008, aged 51.

GEORGE @ BRIGHTON PRIDE 2009!

George will be DJing at this years Brighton & Hove Pride event which will take place on 1st August 2009.


DJ George will join the festivities at the afternoon's Main Park event which is held at Preston park, and he will be DJing in the main music tent.

GEORGE IS FREE!

We are more than pleased to announce that George was today (11 May 09) released from Edmunds Hill Prison.


He has been granted an early release due to good behaviour. George will still be tagged and he will remain under curfew until further notice.


He was released this morning into the arms of his family and a few supporting fans, and George is overjoyed to be free again.

BLISS
NO ONE BUILT THIS MOMENT
feat. American Heart

Danish ambient band BLISS will release there new album No One Built This Moment on mp3 digital download on the 27 April 2009 and a CD album will follow on 8 June 2009.


The album includes a version of George's track American Heart, which features female vocals from Alexandra Hamnede (famous for the Bliss hit 'Kissing' which features in last years movie 'Sex and The City").

Bliss on Boy George:
Up until the last minute Bliss was unsure if they would succeed at getting Boy George on board, but finally an e-mail ticked in from the androgynous icon of the 80’s that read ’You can call me tonight’. And so it happened that the former lead singer of Culture Club features on the fourth Bliss album with the catchy track ‘American Heart’.
